Today I am talking fitness and health! Working out is such an important part of my life. I enjoy spending time at the yoga studio and gym, but I try to mix up my indoor and outdoor sessions because I think there are a lot of health benefits to exercising outside.
COMPANIONSHIP
Ever since my son was little, we would go on nature walks. We loved collecting leaves and rocks, observing various insects and living creatures, and skipping rocks in the pond. Although he loves running, we still go for walks together. It gives us a chance to spend quality time exercising, talking, and keeping communication open during these teenage years! I also love taking the time to walk with my husband, friends, and mom because it gives us a chance to talk and get caught up on all of life’s happenings!
MENTAL BENEFITS
If I am not working out with someone else, I use my outdoor fitness regimen as a time for self-reflection and meditation. Just looking at wildlife and the beauty of nature helps me to maintain focus and clarity. The mental stimulation attained from natural scenery is also a great change of pace from a gym or studio.
SUNSHINE
Natural Vitamin D from sunlight is part of my beauty regimen. I try my best to use all natural products from nature, so if I can get my daily dose of Vitamin D from the sun instead of a capsule, it’s a win for me!
VARIED WORKOUT
New adventures are one of my favorite things about exercising outdoors. We like to explore new hiking paths, ride bikes in the city, and explore trails in the woods. The varied terrain and alternate forms of exercise work different muscle groups in my body and provide me with thorough training sessions throughout the week.
I would love to know your favorite place to exercise! I can’t wait to hear from you!
My favorite workout is finding bike trails I have never taken before. Thanks for the post!
